The limited print 'Corina' is part of the illustration series 'Quarantine Characters'. A series about some very different personalities Lieke Milder was in lockdown with in a hostel in Cusco, Peru, during the COVID-19 crisis. Each person is pictured in their most iconic way of coping with the strange situation they were suddenly in.
"Like in every household the furniture is divided in a natural way. Everyone owns a spot. As did Corina, a tiny American girl who you could always find in 'the big chair' with a big cup of tea. This vegan girl was always positive and in the mood for a conversation. On the outside she seems the friendliest and most innocent girl, but when she shuffled a deck of cards she transformed into a fierce blackjack dealer. Hope we can play a game again someday."
