The limited print 'Lily' is part of the illustration series 'Quarantine Characters'. A series about some very different personalities Lieke Milder was in lockdown with in a hostel in Cusco, Peru, during the COVID-19 crisis. Each person is pictured in their most iconic way of coping with the strange situation they were suddenly in.
"Let me introduce you to Lily, the sleeping beauty of the hostel. You could always find this Chinese girl in bed. Her parents assumed she was in Canada for her studies, but secretly she made a trip to Peru and got stuck over there with us. Unfortunately there wasn't a prince who woke this beauty up from the lockdown nightmare, but once in a while she did got out of bed to make herself some food. Her specialty was boiling an egg in the whistling kettle. Yumm! Although she wasn't the brightest chef, she was always friendly and willing to learn."
